一、Brief Introduction

This rotary drum dryer is the essential pre-drying equipment for beach heavy mineral, zircon sand, ilmenite and rutile beneficiation lines. It adopts countercurrent rotary drum structure, reducing the moisture of wet concentrate (15%~22% initial water) to below 1%, to ensure normal electrostatic separation in subsequent process and avoid blockage & low recovery rate.
Complete supporting system includes heat source, dust removal, feeding & discharging unit and PLC control cabinet. The drum is wear-resistant against hard ore scouring. Multiple heating modes (coal, natural gas, biomass, electric heating) are optional. Modular split design enables container shipment. Non-standard customization is available for mining projects in Southeast Asia, Africa, India and Middle East.

 

二、Working Principle

The drum is installed with an inclination of 3°~5° and rotates at low speed, with wear-resistant lifting plates arranged inside. Wet ore is fed from the higher end, while hot air enters reversely from the lower end. Lifting plates keep lifting mineral materials to form uniform material curtain, so ore fully contacts hot air for heat exchange. Free moisture evaporates and is exhausted with waste gas, and dried ore is discharged continuously from the lower outlet.

Equipped with induced draft fan, cyclone dust collector and pulse bag dust remover, exhaust gas meets international emission standards, supporting 24-hour automatic continuous operation.

 

三、Application & Usage 

1. Mandatory process equipment: Electrostatic separator cannot process damp & agglomerated ore. This dryer is indispensable in gravity-magnetic-electrostatic separation flow to guarantee stable beneficiation recovery.
2. Improve storage & shipping quality: Break caked wet mineral powder. Dried sand is loose for sieving, bulk bag packing and ocean shipment, cutting damp loss and extra shipping weight cost.
3. Flexible heating options: Support coal, biomass, natural gas and electric heating, suitable for remote mining sites without pipeline gas supply.
4. Environmental closed-loop system: Two-stage dust collection recovers fine zircon & titanium powder, reducing raw material waste and complying with global mining environmental regulations. 

四、Standard Specifications
